Welcome to the HDGED website for general information, online registration, and
links to helpful sites.
We provide testing services in Bend, Redmond, Prineville and LaPine, as well as
some speciality sites in the state of Oregon.

- 1. How much is the test?
- The initial fee for the battery of 5 tests is $125 and can be paid
online during the registration process or in person before testing by
money order, cashiers check to High Desert ESD or voucher from an
agency ... no personal
checks.

- 4. What do I need to register for testing?

a. You need to register online for the testing dates available on this web site
b. After online registration you have the option to pay for the test online by
VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card through PayPal.
c. After registration print your confirmation and bring with you to the testing.
d. Go to ged123.org and sign up under "New and Potential GED® Students".
Be sure to print the last page and bring with you when you come to the testing.
- 5. What to bring for testing?
- You need to bring the following items or you will not be allowed to take the test:
- Government issued PHOTO ID:
- Acceptable Forms of Government ID:
Any Valid State Drivers License, Permit or Identification Card. State issued ID with an expired date will not be accepted as proof of identity.
Valid Passport*
Valid military ID*
* If you are using a passport, or military ID to verify your identity you must
also have a current piece of mail to prove your residence address.
State ID cards must include the following five elements:
Name - if your name has been legally changed, your ID must reflect the name change prior to attending the registration/orientation session
Current Address - If you have moved you must have the new address sticker issued by the DMV attached to your ID. All GED® official documents will be mailed to the address on your ID by the time of registration.
The GED® testing office, postal service, and the State of Oregon GED® records office will not forward GED® documents.
Photo - Your photo must be on your ID
Date of Birth - your DOB must be legible on your ID
Signature - Your ID must have your signature on it

- Verification of your SS number may be done by showing one of the following:
Your Social Security Card
A pay stub from a job
Tax forms from the government
W2 Forms from a job
Medical Insurance Card with SS#
- If you have previously taken GED® tests since January 1, 2002:
- You must bring a copy of your testing scores with you from the previous GED® testing site.
- If you are 16 or 17 years of age, you must also have ONE of the following:
- GED® candidates must also have an exemption from compulsory education
- Exemption from Compulsory Education. This form includes the ORS statue as well as the signature of a parent/legal guardian and a school official. It can be obtained from your high school, or ESD office.
- Oregon Option Form and purple bubble-form
- Home Schoolers: ESD/Parent Assurance Form and purple bubble-form
Students who move into a school district and chose not to enroll in the Oregon Education System will be excluded from GED® testing until the age of 18.
- 6. Orientation / Registration
- The day of testing at 10:00am. If you are not on time or have the required paperwork you will not be allowed to test - no exceptions.
- 7. Where do I get my scores?

You can view your scores and print a transcript at
ged123.org. You must use your access code.
If you do not remember your access code, please contact the testing center where you tested.
The school or employer can go to the website listed above and enter the verification code from the transcript.
Check with your school or employer to see if they will accept a transcript printed from
ged123.org or if you need to get an official transcript from the GED® State Office.
For records prior to 2002, you will need to use the GED® test form at

- 9. What are the requirements for taking and passing the GED® in Oregon?
-
To earn a GED® certificate you must:
- Receive a minimum standard score of 410 on each of the five tests, an averag passing score on all five test of 450 or more and a total minimum passing score of 2,250.
- Be a minimum age of 18, or 16 and 17 year olds who meet the following requirements:
+ 16 and 17 year old examinees who are enrolled in a Oregon School District must be in a district with an approved Oregon GED® option for Selected Secondary Students plan.
+ 16 and 17 year old examinees that are not enrolled in an Oregon Option school must be exempted from compulsory attendance by school district in order to take the GED® test
- Oregon residency is not required
- 10. What if I don't pass the first time?

GED® Testing Service permits GED® candidates to test up to three times per subject, per contract year (January 1 to December 31), based on the number of standard forms available each contract year.
For instance, if you don't pass the first time, you can it take it two more times during the calendar year.
- 11. GED® Testing in Spanish?

Distrito de High Desert (HDESD por sus siglas en inglés). Si usted quiere tomar
el examen en español, escriba "Spanish Testing" en el espacio para comentarios
